Since introduction in the 1980’s Lithium battery applications have moved from small electronic devices and toys…to cell phones…and now to electric vehicles, golf carts, floor scrubbers, boats, aerial lifts and more.

Lithium battery manufacturers are quick to point out that, compared to other battery chemistries, lithium batteries are lighter, have improved charge/discharge efficiency, can have longer life and the ability to deep cycle while maintaining power.

At the heart of each battery is a Battery Management System (BMS) which ensures that each battery works as specifically designed. As the evolution of lithium batteries continues, even very minor changes to a BMS can greatly affect how and if a battery accepts and completes a charge cycle.

Pro Charging Systems works closely with dozens of lithium battery manufacturers developing, testing and validating charging algorithms. PCS offers many solutions and benefits for lithium batteries:

• Most PCS chargers can be configured for a range of lithium battery chemistries currently on the market. 

• PCS chargers quickly and efficiently charge lithium batteries to a 100% State of Charge (SoC).

• Certain PCS chargers provide our Patent Pending Data Collection capabilities which can be accessed via a free app. This technology provides extremely accurate real time and historical charging data.

• Lithium batteries wired in series have the potential to become out of balance, thus reducing the expected performance. PCS Battery Optimization System (B.O.S.) will balance sets of lithium batteries during charging, discharging and at rest to optimize runtime. The B.O.S is the only system on the market that actively balances batteries wired in series.

• PCS offers a full line of the most accurate lithium compatible Battery Gauges on the market. Our Battery Gauges include either ProView Link or DeltaView Link App.

• Some models display State of Charge (SoC) through LED’s and the App. Others not only display SoC but State of Health (SoH), amp hour tracking ability and machine run-time reporting.
